Easton Neston

role: Structural Engineers

Easton Neston is a Grade I listed Country House just outside Towcester, Northamptonshire, designed by renowned architect Nicholas Hawksmoor.  The main house was completed in 1702 for Sir William Fermor.  Our client purchased the Estate and carried out an extensive refurbishment of the main house and estate buildings.

A fire had destroyed the section of the house called the Wren wing in 2002.  It was rumoured that Wren had an influence in the design of this wing although this has never been confirmed and is thought to be more of a rumour.  Our first task was to survey the fire damaged structure and prepare drawings detailing the construction of a facsimile of the original structure using the same materials and construction.

We were also involved in the alterations and refurbishment of the main house and a number of outbuildings including a real tennis court, gate lodges and stable buildings.
