TMP Engineers Declare!

TMP Engineers Declare!

The climate emergency has quite rightly moved up the agenda in the construction industry, particularly in light of legislation being brought forward to set a Net Zero Carbon target. With the construction industry being a significant contributor to carbon emissions The Morton Partnership places high importance on our responsibility towards the climate and biodiversity in our designs.

We have joined a large number of Structural Engineering practices in signing the ‘Structural Engineers Declare’ with a commitment to strengthen our working practices to create structural engineering outcomes that have more positive impact on the world around us.

A significant percentage of TMP’s projects are in the context of an existing building, with the existing structures adapted and reused. We consider this to be one of the most sustainable forms of building project, albeit we recognise that there are often challenges associated with this. Particularly when assessing the commercial viability of such schemes, upgrading buildings to meet current building codes with regard to services provision and insulation.
